Nico Porteous is New Zealand’s youngest Olympic Games ever. The now 17-year-old won a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympic in the halfpipe at 16 years and 91 days old. His medal was so unexpected that the TV commentators said they could not tell viewers a great deal about him, as they did not believe he would feature after coming second last in qualifying.

However, Nico has been back by Red Bull since he was 14 and was the youngest person to land a triple cork 1440. Nico began skiing at age 4 and has come a long way since.

Nico is a man of few words but we are lucky to have some of them. I don't really have any words of wisdom but my advice would be - start with a dream and then make plans and work hard, never give up and then that dream might very well become a reality.

Thank-you Nico and good luck for the winter season.
